I created a series of paintings to benefit the World Aquarium in 2003.  You can veiw the paintings I created for the 2003 Gala here.

Beginning in late 2005 Mahieu began to explore the world of Abstract Expressionism which had always held a fascination for him.  A trip to the Caribbean and snorkeling in the prismatic waters there exploded his color palette.  Current paintings combine his knowledge of the natural world with brilliant spectral hues, treating color and brushwork as the primary focus and imagery (if present) as incidental.
The largest public collection of Mahieu's  work is at the World Aquarium in St Louis.

This online catalog of the 2003 Gala is being archived here for sentimental reasons.

Silent Auction Items for the 2003 Gala
This is an image heavy page, we appreciate your patience while the images load.

Artist Brian Mahieu “Missouri’s Monet” is creating a series of plein air paintings
depicting the site where Lewis and Clark camped on September 18, 1806.  In addition to landscapes and river scenes, Mahieu’s richly pigmented floral paintings will be included in the auction.   This body of work is being created, expressly, to benefit the Aquarium and its ongoing projects.
