CORAL
HUMMINGBIRD
Tropical Bird Series, an imaginary hummingbird This sprightly flower seems to hover in the garden on its pinched-petal wings. The bloom's color is a warm salmon coral blend with a rose red eye, and darker veining. Lighter midribs adorn the petals that are edged in a lighter tone as they approach the eyezone. Throat color is cadmium yellow to lime green. Substance is a light suede -- diamond dusted and fragrant. An excellent clumper and probably rhizomatous in growth habit due to JENNIE LOVE's presence in the pedigree. ROSY PURPLE ODDITY by George Lenington is scarce and also has proven to be an important parent for me. This plant has been an excellent parent for many wonderful Unusual Forms children. Below I am introducing a new feature—Guest Hybridizers who are using my cultivars in their programs may submit seedling images with parentage for possible inclusion on my site. John Stahl of Brookside Gardens was kind enough to share these wonderful images of Coral Hummingbird and three siblings from a cross of (KEENE X CORAL HUMMINGBIRD) |
