CERULEAN STAR was one of the foundation plants in my hybridizing program.  This illustrated pedigree chart is from my presentations given on breeding Spiders and Unusual Forms.  I love the Lambert daylilies as he virtually always listed the parentage, and many of his plants can be traced clear back to the species.  This is always my ultimate goal when researching potential breeding stock.  If I don't know where a flower came from I don't know where I can take it.  Here, I am speaking of the difference between phenome (physical appearance) and genome (genetic makeup).  Knowing the ancestors of the plant in question gives us a glimpse into the genome, and what we may be able to cause to resurface as we continually shuffle genes through hybridization.
