Mahieu Diploid 96-97 A
[NIGHT GOWN X ORCHID CORSAGE]
40 M 4.5 NOC EXT SEV 4 way branching 32 buds, Long-petaled daylily
Living in the river bottoms, as I do, this color is reminiscent
of the wintry river hills, just as the sun is dropping below the horizon.
RIVER HILLS is a truly gorgeous flower. Though the blooms measure
4.5 inches naturally standing, the petals are 3.5 inches long and recurved.
The fabulous color is a dusky purple-violet. The petals have a darker,
velvety chevron that becomes a stippled midrib extending the band to the
petal tips! A reverse bitone, the sepals are the same color as
the chevrons, though all segments are edged lighter. The richness of
the bloom is accentuated by a neon lemon-lime starburst throat pattern.
Excellent weatherproof and sun-proof color and substance! Vigorous
grower. EXTREMELY Fertile both ways.
