Though not typical of my
work, this piece was commissioned by the Jefferson
City Country Club. It is a scale reproduction, in oil on linen,
of
the first painting made of Jefferson City, Missouri. The original
is by an
artist named Vogler, and was created in the early 1800's.
Completed circa 1991

This painting was
commissioned by my elementary school principal, the
late Lavinia "Tad" Asbury of Centralia, Missouri. It depicts her
father shocking corn in the early 1920s. The farm was a site that
I frequented on my horseback rides as a young person, and the landscape
was, thus, imprinted on my psyche. I worked from an old black and
white photograph.
Completed circa 1989
